Before directing Marvel's Black Panther and Fruitvale Station, Ryan Coogler made a student film set in Oakland, California. The film debuted in 2011 and features real street scenes of the city, a theme he continued in 2013's Fruitvale Station. The similarities between his student film and the 2013 feature are astounding. Fine Cut celebrates 25 seasons of student film, featuring some of today's top talent.
