More than a week ago, Tom Sawyer Island (in addition to the Liberty Square Riverboat and the Rivers of America and the Walt Disney World Railroad Frontierland station) closed permanently at Magic Kingdom to prepare for a new Cars-themed area. This closure has been anticipated and confirmed for a while, and I've tried to adapt to the change and focus on the memories I've been fortunate enough to make (and preserve) on Tom Sawyer Island throughout my life. I've been to Magic Kingdom more times in the week than I ever have before leading up to the closure, and I still wish I had more time. I went to Magic Kingdom on July 6th (and again on July 7th) to be a part of something meaningful to me, and will undoubtedly rewatch this particular video (and related videos) numerous times in the years to come.
