Bees are responsible for the pollination of many important food crops around the world. But in the last 10 years, the UK alone has lost a third of its population. So what can we do?
For starters, we can let our lawns grow wild, allowing wild, bee-friendly flowers like clover to grow. Simon Pickering from Ecotricity shares the history of the lawnmower and why we need to step away from it.
There are plenty of bee-friendly plants we can grow, with a range of shapes and colours being shared here.
We also take a 'lunchtime safari' in Stroud and see a diverse range of pollinators, from the chocolate mining bee to the comma butterfly. A great lesson in opening your eyes to your own environment.
