The hive has been busy since my last inspection with lots of new bees hatched, getting ready for their orientation flight. Today I'll be inspecting to see how much the bees have built and other hive check basics: looking for the queen, observing the different stages of larvae, being alert for any signs of swarming or supercedure, as well as any signs of mites.

Welcome to my first year of keeping bees, where I plan to learn everything I can about raising pollinators and maybe get some honey in the process.
