Because I Have Been Given Much (Hymn) - Cherish Tuttle Cover [Live Studio Sessions].

I don't post a lot of videos of me singing anymore, but this song has been a reoccurring theme to me the last few weeks. November and December I find myself feeling more grateful for what I have and thanking my Heavenly Father for all he has blessed me with.

A Couple weeks ago I was heading to go workout at the gym probably around 5:30 AM in the morning. While driving in my car I passed a homeless man huddled down in the cold, bent over trying to sleep. He looked extremely uncomfortable but I just passed him and continued on my way to the gym.

While at the gym I couldn't stop thinking about this homeless person. I knew he was probably freezing and I couldn't help but think he had a miserable night. I finished my workout and proceeded to head to my car but as soon as I got into my car, I knew I had to do something. The thought would not leave me to help him in some small way.

I stopped by the local grocery store close to where I had seen the homeless man and quickly found some necessities like water, bread..even bananas. After checking out, I felt nervous. What could I tell him? What was I going to say while dropping off this sack of groceries to him?

Well the moment had arrived and I just said, "Hi, I have some groceries for you." I set the grocery sack next to him and literally ran off because I was feeling awkward. He didn't even have a chance to respond or say much but I knew he needed those groceries. He wasn't on the side of the road asking for anything from anyone. He was just stuck on the side of the road trying to get through a cold night. I wish I could have done more for him.

A Few days after this happened I was asked to sing the Hymn "Because I Have Been Given Much" at a women's church activity for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a ward building here in Las Vegas, NV. While trying to practice for this event, I literally would break down crying every time I would sing this song. The 2nd verse really has a new meaning to me;

"Because I have been sheltered, fed
By thy good care;
I cannot see another’s lack and I not share;
My glowing fire, my loaf of bread,
my roof's safe shelter overhead
That he too may be comforted."

May you all think of others, help those around you any small way that you can. The Lord needs more people to watch out for those who truly are in need. I know I am far more grateful for all the Lord has blessed me with this Holiday season. I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving and wonderful Holiday Season!
