Do you need a degree or an ordination to be used by God?
Since becoming a believer and follower, I’ve been astounded by how God trusts the disqualified, foolish, despised, and weak ones of the world to spread His gospel and to do His mighty works.
If man chose the first disciples according to our standards, we would have disqualified the first twelve and chosen individuals who looked more like a pharisee than a fisherman.
God always selects people to do the works whose resume doesn't qualify them for.
Gratefulness, humility, and hunger gets you a seat at the feast! While pride, distractions, and earthly possessions forfeits it.
The educated, trained, and qualified have missed many of God’s profound works because they’ve disqualified the vessels God chooses, based on the world's qualifications rather than God's. The world looks at outward qualities while the Lord only looks at the heart.
And, God has selectively used the imperfect, the unqualified, the untrained, the uneducated, and the freshly saved to do His exploits so that He receives all the honor and glory.
Like a mighty river, God's presence and power always flows to and through the lowest points.
When Jesus chose pillars to lay the foundation of His church He chose individuals who were beautifully unworthy. People who He uniquely qualified because of their devotion. Individuals who the religious leaders of the time would disqualify and consider laughably unworthy.
He started with a group composed of uneducated fishermen, a tax collector who was considered a traitor, a man He knew would betray Him, a Zealot, a group who engaged in politics and anarchy, attempting to overthrow the Roman government. And, a woman pregnant out of wedlock and another who had seven demons to usher in His Kingdom.
You, beloved, are called to do beautiful and mighty works.
You are beautiful, wonderfully made, and powerful, because your life is no longer yours. Our existence, after salvation, is no longer about us, but only Him.
