The skill tree in Beast of Reincarnation does not work the way you would expect, and most people are levelling it in the wrong direction. Your attributes are tied directly to the tree, so which stat you raise decides which branch opens up. This is the full route for what to unlock first on both Emma and Koo.
The core advice: work your way up, not down. Maximise Emma's main damage ability before you start spreading points around, then take Entanglement Overdrive and the recovery node so your health comes back far more often. On Koo's side, Guard and Pounce are the priorities, and Pounce climbs to a 50 to 60 percent assassination chance which is enormous early on. Elemental nodes look tempting but they are a second playthrough project, not a first one. Worth remembering max level is 100 and you will finish your first run somewhere around 60 to 70, so you cannot have everything yet.
Plus two things worth knowing at the end: where you actually spend your skill points, and the skill mod layer that sits completely separate from the tree. All footage is my own playthrough. Which branch did you go for first? Let me know in the comments.
