Beast of the East hit North Shields today. The Russian weather front brought chaos to rush hour traffic at Billy Mill Roundabout or Junction. Visibility was poor and road condition treacherous as people tried to make their way home. Blizzard conditions and freezing temperatures caused accidents and untreated roads started to freeze over with black ice.
