Our niece and nephew are visiting Alaska, so we wanted to treat them to one of our favorite day trips south of Anchorage! We drive along the stunning Turnagain Arm, stopping at McHugh Creek and Beluga Point before hiking to beautiful Virgin Creek Falls in Girdwood and grabbing a quick lunch. Then it's off to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center for an unforgettable experience—we were invited behind the scenes to feed their brown bears! We've visited the center dozens of times over the years, but this was easily our most incredible visit yet. After exploring the rest of the amazing facility, we wrap up the day with fresh halibut at Swiftwater Café in Whittier, a little more sightseeing, and the scenic drive back home to Anchorage.
