Dont lie to your kids. It sets up serious cognitive dissonance, and may very well not only undermine everything youre attempting to do but future relationships. Theyre not as stupid as we are. No reason to dumb it down, no harm in saying I honestly do not know the answer to that when thats the case, which it is in many, MANY cases.
