The seventh edition of the Berlin Climate and Security Conference (BCSC) explored climate, conflict, and cooperation in a turbulent era. Better coordination and innovative collaborations are needed more than ever. Through taking stock of leading practice and convening figures from government, implementation organisations, and research, it advanced actionable climate security solutions amid growing instability.

This spotlight session showcased the transformative impact of the Weathering Risk Peace Pillar, presenting fresh evaluation evidence from Nigeria, Somalia, Yemen, Iraq, and the Bay of Bengal, with a deep dive into Nigeria where inclusive farmer–herder dialogues produced climate sensitive peace agreements that reduced violence, revitalised local economies, and built scalable governance models expanding statewide and cross border. Building on this example, the session distilled five strategic lessons from the cross project synthesis, demonstrating with compelling evidence that the Peace Pillar is essential for navigating today’s converging crises and is a proven investment ready for scaling.
