The BBC and other public service broadcasters are facing growing competition as viewers move away from traditional television and towards online platforms.
But new rules introduced under the Media Act could give public service content a major advantage on connected TV platforms. Ofcom's proposals cover how prominently services such as BBC iPlayer and other designated PSB players and content must appear, including requirements around prominence and discoverability.
