DC Animation has proven to be the most beloved medium when it comes to adapting various aspects of the DC Comics universe, with popular media such as the DCAMU (DC Animated Movie Universe) based on the New 52, the DCAU with Justice League Unlimited, and many others. The DCAMU version of Batman, in particular, takes much of the spotlight with a multitude of films and characters building upon the Batman mythos, including Nightwing, Damian Wayne Robin, Batwoman, etc. This iteration of Batman works well in demonstrating combat abilities against the likes of the Court of Owls and collaborates effectively with Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Green Lantern.
Batman and Superman are two of the most iconic superheroes, not just in DC Comics but across all fictional media, including characters from the Marvel Comics Universe or the MCU. DCAU adaptations, such as those in the Justice League featuring The Flash, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern, offer some of the best dynamics between the 'World's Finest' put to screen. Batman & Robin and the rest of the Batfamily definitely present the best team-ups, but Batman/Superman also offer great value. 'Superman/Batman: Public Enemies' and 'Superman/Batman: Apocalypse' feature characters like Supergirl, Darkseid, Wonder Woman, and Lex Luthor. The DCEU and Zack Snyder fumbled in their depiction of Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck's Batman, as shown in 'Batman vs. Superman' and 'Zack Snyder's Justice League'. One can hope that James Gunn's DCU will offer a proper Superman in the upcoming film and a great Batman in 'The Brave and the Bold'. 'Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League' provided only slight glimpses of what the 'World's Finest' dynamic could have been after Batman Arkham Knight.
