A song about the American colourfield abstractionist, Barnett Newman. Every time I've been to the National Gallery of Canada, I make sure to see "Voice of Fire".
I should also mention that two versions of this song are on the CD "Songs for a Dead Hare", by The Cedar Tavern Singers AKA Les Phonorealistes. One good version, sung by Daniel Wong, and one very very bad version sung by the two of us.
