this board's been cookin for a couple weeks, and it's really exciting to finally see it finished and playable. welcome to the underground track! y'know, like race track.
the music here is an arrangement of one of super mario land 2's level themes. it might not seem like an obvious pick for this board, which clearly takes most of its cues from green hill zone and smb1 underground levels, but given the whole thing is sort of a mishmash of stuff i care about, sml2 music felt really appropriate. besides, it was a great excuse to make an arrangement reminiscent of the mario maker theme for editing smb1 underground levels, which is my favorite from that game.
where mit's city of mako expands its space count and general scope greatly from the water aisle, my underground track is scaled back a bit, with a more paltry space count, no shops, no tax fund spaces, and a sigil space that never moves.
the name of the game is to get to the end as many times as possible in order to rack up the biggest sphere bonus from doc louis, all while using the linear nature of the board to screw over your opponents. the board has multiple paths of varying space counts, each one with some branches to take, intentionally or otherwise. think on your feet and figure out the best routes to take!
bard game is still not available to play publicly and there are no current plans to make it available.
