This is a quick look at some of the fans at the recent FIFA World Cup soccer game featuring Iran versus New Zealand. The Iranian fans outside of the stadium were flying the pre-revolutionary Iranian flag as a sign of protest against the current regime. The security guard at the stadium were confiscating any flags or images of the flag, including T-shirts at the front gate, so the only place to see this Iranian pre-Revolutionary flag was outside of the stadium. Many Iranians do not like the current government, but they still love their country, and they made a lot of noise when their team scored a goal!  The pre-revolutionary Iranian flag has a lion on it with the sun in the background.
