With all of the hysteria about Trump "attacking" the media, I don't think Trump has ever threatened to imprison anyone for engaging in freedom of the press. I, personally, am currently under threat of imprisonment if I engage in certain 1st Amendment activities.
After being attacked by a mob of thugs while I was filming a protest, Multnomah County Judge Thomas Ryan ruled that I was the one guilty of crimes for not wanting to be beaten and robbed. While on bail, pre trial release officer Chelsea Fonua imposed several 1st Amendment restrictions on me, including being banned from posting videos, posting on Twitter, blogging, talking to the media, and even banned from simply going to political events.
While some of those restrictions have since been lifted by the judge as part of my sentencing, I am still banned from filming protests, filming anything at Portland State University or Portland Community College, filming anywhere where I'm told to leave, or anyone who tells me to not film them. If I violate that, then I get sent to prison.
Bloviating figureheads like Jim Acosta can ramble on about how they are under assault by Trump, but none of them have been threatened with imprisonment for doing their jobs as members of the press.
