Last week, ballroom came to ICP and turned the “Yves Saint Laurent and Photography” gallery space into a runway for a special open-to-all mini-ball as part of ICP’s Late Night for Fashion.
Hosted by MC Legendary Leggoh, with music by DJ Icon MikeQ, participants walked the categories of Fashion and Runway, taking inspiration from Yves Saint Laurent’s legacy and reinterpreting it through their own style.
The evening was produced with Nick Blu, photographer, visual producer, and member of New York City’s Ballroom community.
Following a wonderful conversation with performer Michael Roberson on photography and archiving ballroom culture, photographer Gerard H. Gaskin was presented with an honorary award in recognition of his work documenting and preserving the community and its history.
Congratulations to the winners of the Fashion and Runway categories, Mother Jocelyn Milan and Legin Allure, who each received a custom ICP trophy and a portrait studio session.
