Balloon Kid was released for the Nintendo Game Boy in October of 1990. It's a sequel to the NES game Balloon Fight. Despite being published by Nintendo this ended up being a rare American/European exclusive not released in Japan. I suppose the big news item about this game is that you play as Alice, a girl, though I can't say I really noticed at the time.
Balloon Kid features a one player "story" mode, a one player "highscore" mode, and a two player mode. Gameplay consists of utilizing balloons to fly in an auto-scrolling right to left platformer. It lures you in with the thoughts of being easy but you'll be swearing by the end of it... Nothing a bit of memorization can't handle., though. This is my review and memories of one of my very first Game Boy games.
