SV pan Captain Mark Phillips riding and jumping on "Favour" No 48. LV pan ditto (he came 3rd). SV pan Mr Hugh Thomas riding and jumping on "Platamar" No 8. LV pan ditto (he came 2nd). SV crowds watching. SV pan Miss Lucinda Prior-Palmer riding and jumping on "Wide Awake". LV pan ditto (she came 1st). SV crowds watching. LV "Wide Awake" with Miss Lucinda Prior-Palmer jumping the last fence (clear round) at 171' she puts arms round the horse's neck in joy and happiness. SV the winning trophy. LV Miss Lucinda Prior-Palmer receives trophy from the Queen. SV ditto. LV horses and riders lined up. STORYLINE:
European champion, Lucinda Prior-Palmer, rode her horse 'Wide Awake' to victory in the Badminton Three Day Event. Sadly, tragedy marred the day, as minutes after winning 'Wide Awake' collapsed and died.
