I took Cooper up into the mountains to check on snow levels and the mountain roads. On the way down from the mountains, we stopped at the river to boil-up a can of beef stew. Using a Trangia alcohol burner with simmer ring, and the Vargo Titanium Hexagon wood stove as a pot stand and windscreen, the stew came to a slow simmering boil in short order. Heat from the Trangia Vargo combo is directed so effectively the paper label on the can doesn't even burn. Can't wait to be back up in the "hills".
