⚛️ Backing up your new computer on arrival can be an important safety net. But there are degrees of what's good enough.
⚛️ Backing up a new machine
Creating an image backup of a new computer is a good safety net should you ever need to restore to true factory settings. Realistically, just back up as soon as possible after setup. To create a truly pristine backup image, boot from the backup software’s rescue media before anything else, or remove the hard disk and create the backup image elsewhere.
