Woodpeckers 1812SS and 2616SS Stainless Steel Precision Squares feature a thin, stainless steel central core, machined to a tolerance of .0085° along with laser-engraved scales held to a tolerance of .004” total stack-up error. On top of that impressive accuracy, there’s a shoulder formed by the cheeks of the beam that keeps the square flat on your work and laser-accurate scribing guides on 1/16” centers. Altogether these features create one of the finest layout tools you’ll ever use. If the scale of your furniture and cabinetry work stretches to the size of these squares, you simply cannot find a better choice, whether you’re working for a living or living for the work.
For all their wonderful features (or maybe because of them) these squares present some manufacturing challenges. We actually
discontinued them a few months ago, not because they weren’t selling, but because they’re time consuming and difficult to machine to our strict standards. We received thousands of requests to bring them back, so here’s the deal. We’re offering a limited release and will accept orders for the 2616SS and 1812SS Precision Squares until August 26, 2024. Once that date passes, we'll build just enough to fill the orders. If you were one of the thousands that asked for them to return, now’s your chance. There’s no guarantee we’ll do this again. In fact, this whole idea of making them again is a bit like hitting your thumb with a hammer and then doing it again 10 minutes later...on purpose
