The chiropractor who posted a video of himself cracking a distressed four day old baby's back with claims he was treating "colic" has been suspended by health regulators, pending an enquiry.
There is no evidence of any benefit of chiropractic manipulation of babies and children for any condition, and there have been calls for the chiropractic treatment of children to be outlawed. So far the official regulator has failed to effectively address complaints against the large number of chiropractors who treat babies and children, preferring to refer to guidelines on advertising rather than the ethics of using this unproven and potentially dangerous "therapy" on children.
