This is a very similar design to another piano toy I have made by a brand called Sensory play. It has a handle on the top, a keyboard on the bottom and some buttons in between, including 5 buttons and some drum buttons. One button makes it play tunes, one makes it play the tunes in a different way so that it plays sections of accompaniment and one plays a melody in E-flat major and causes the keys to play different short piano tunes. The long tunes are split up into sections with small gaps in between them and when it’s in the mode in which the keys have to be pressed in order to progress it through the melody, it goes into different sections when it reaches them and until then, it loops round the sections of accompaniment, well what ever section it is on at the time. I was lazy and didn’t record all of the accompanying sections solo, but I can do this if anyone wants me to.
I really like the music on this thing and I like the fact that it can do portamento with the sounds which I haven’t heard much on musical toys thus far.
I just remembered there is another melody I neglected from this so I’ll upload it in a separate video.
The very last melody is a goodbye sound that plays after about two or three minutes when the toy hasn’t been in action but I cut the silence out. Similar goes for the last sounds on the Laptronics car keys and Little Tykes drum.
