Pattaya Walking Street is the biggest and busiest party hotspot in the whole of Thailand, with only a couple of the top places in Bangkok beating it for sheer volume and variety. A full kilometre from its high-tech gateway at the Beach Road end to the Bali Hai Plaza end, almost every building along its length is a nightclub, go-go bar, beer bar or restaurant. Each of the side streets – which span from Soi 14 to Soi 16, with a couple of uniquely-named streets in between - is more of the same, making the whole southern end of the city into a warren of nightlife entertainments, with something for practically every taste. Music: Taken on a Hallow's Eve by Dhruva Aliman dhruvaaliman.bandcamp.com/album/the-wolf-and-the-river http://dhruvaaliman.comSongkran Money Shots ~ Crazy Water Fight Festival 2023 ~ Pattaya ThailandSeeker Land2023-07-09 | Songkran is the celebration of the traditional New Year in Thailand, a Buddhist holiday, and one could argue the world’ biggest water gun fight. Most travelers to Thailand that want to experience water festival come for the latter. For three days, up to a week in some areas, people take to the street with buckets of water, super soaker water guns, hoses, and anything else that will help them delight in dousing people with water.
It is a huge celebration and national holiday in Thailand and great fun. There is a party like atmosphere throughout the cities and many festivals and events taking place throughout the celebration.
The Songkran festival used to change dates based on the solar calendar. In recent years the date has been codified and the public holiday is always April 13 – 15 every year. Songkran day is April 13th. This is the day where Thai and Buddhist traditions are observed.
The Thai Water Festival, as Songkran is also known, can last longer than 3 days in areas like Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Pattaya. Some people even get started soaking people a little early, so be on the look out a day or two before the holiday officially begins.
The Songkran festival started out as the traditional Thai New Year’s celebration. It was based on the solar calendar and the date often fluctuated. In 1940, Thailand adopted January 1 as it’s official start to the New Year but the Songkran holiday continues to be celebrated as part of the cultural and Buddhist tradition of the country.
While most people are familiar sights of the water fights raging on the city streets and the festivities and revelries associated with today’s festival, the origins are from more stoic Buddhist traditions that date back hundreds of years and still practiced today.
It is a time of cleaning, washing away the bad luck, misdeeds, and misfortunes from the previous year and starting anew. The Thai’s pour scented water over the statues of Buddha and the shoulders of each other and on the hands of their elders in a symbolic gesture of this belief.
This tradition still continues is the homes and temples around Thailand. It’s only afterward that people take to the streets and start soaking each other with water and celebrating for days on end.
While any attire you don’t mind getting wet is appropriate, many people dress up for Songkran. The ‘Songkran Shirt’ is a colorful flower print reminiscent of Hawaiian shirts, and many people will be wearing them. Some take it to another level and get dressed up in costumes and masks.
You can expect to be splashed with water as soon as you start walking down the street. Another Songkran tradition is to wipe a white chalk mixture on people’s faces. It’s a symbolic nod to the chalk used by Buddhist monks for blessing. Don’t be surprised if someone comes up and smears some white goop on your face, though it is impolite for someone to do so without asking first.
You aren’t safe from getting wet anywhere unless you are locked in your hotel room, these are the best cities to celebrate the Thai Water Festival.
In Bangkok - Khao San Road and Silom are the epicenter for Songkran activities in Bangkok. Khao San Road is the backpacker ghetto and it is a drunken party with plenty of tourist on tourist soaking. There are many bars serving alcohol and DJ’s pumping out tunes.
Pattaya does Songkran like no other city in Thailand. When the celebration ends elsewhere, Pattaya carries on celebrating till April 19th, that’s a full week! Soi 6, 7, and 8 are popular spots. Bars will have large drums of water setup for people to reload their water guns, and many tourists will park themselves at the bars, drinking and having a good time as they soak passersby with water.
With bars lining almost every street, Pattaya is like one giant Songkran party. The festivities end on Wan Lai, which means ‘Flowing Day’. If you’ve had enough of being drenched, head over to Bang Saen beach where they craft amazing sand castles and sculptures.
Chiang Mai is probably the most popular spot for tourists to enjoy the Thailand Water Festival. The slow laid back atmosphere in a city surrounded by a moat filled with water make it an ideal location. The moat is drained shortly before the holiday begins and is filled with clean (‘ish) water as it is a major source for reloading buckets and water guns. The old city is where all the activity is and where you want to be.
In Phuket, Patong Beach is where the action is. Bangla and Beach roads in particular are the hot spots. Bangla Road is closed off to cars and people walk up and down dumping water on each other while being shot at with water guns from patrons at the bars lining the streets.

U.S. Energy Department Now Says Lab Leak Most Likely Origin of Covid-19 Pandemic, and FBI agrees. Rand Paul says Biden should declassify docs after Energy Department reversal. The Energy Department, which had been undecided on the origin of the pandemic, now joins the FBI in concluding the coronavirus likely spread due to a mishap at a Chinese laboratory, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing a classified intelligence report provided to the White House and key members of Congress. The so-called "lab leak theory," according to which the virus came from a lab leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in Wuhan, China, was widely dismissed as a conspiracy theory and "misinformation" by Democrats, major news outlets, scientists, and social media companies in the early stages of the pandemic.
Paul was hardly the only Republican lawmakers to call for answers and accountability following news of the Energy Department's assessment.
Congressional Republicans quickly took to Twitter, demanding apologies from those who dismissed the lab leak theory and for China to be held accountable.
The development, which was noted in an update to a 2021 document by Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines's office, prompted Paul to call for greater transparency.
"Classified documents leaked (they should be declassified!) showing scientists at DOE believe COVID leaked from Wuhan Lab," Paul tweeted, calling for greater transparency.
Beyond the FBI and Energy Department, the National Intelligence Council and four other agencies assess at "low confidence" that the COVID-19 pandemic originated due to natural transmission from an infected animal, while the CIA and another unnamed agency are undecided, according to the Wall Street Journal.
FBI Director Christopher Wray said the COVID-19 pandemic was likely caused by a lab leak in Wuhan, China.
"The FBI has for quite some time now assessed that the origins of the pandemic are most likely a potential lab incident in Wuhan," Wray told Fox News in an interview that aired Tuesday. "Here you are talking about a potential leak from a Chinese government-controlled lab."
"I will just make the observation that the Chinese government, it seems to me, has been doing its best to try to thwart and obfuscate the work here, the work that we're doing, the work that our U.S. government and close foreign partners are doing. And that's unfortunate for everybody," he added.
Wray said the FBI has specialists who focus on "the dangers of biological threats, which include things like novel viruses like COVID, and the concerns that they [are] in the wrong hands [of] some bad guys, a hostile nation state, a terrorist, a criminal."

The heat had been generated by the repeated high speed collisions of much smaller bodies of space rocks that continually clumped together as they collided to form this planet. As the collisions tapered off the earth began to cool, forming a thin crust on its surface. As the cooling continued, water vapor began to escape and condense in the earth's early atmosphere. Clouds formed and storms raged, raining more and more water down on the primitive earth, cooling the surface further until it was flooded with water, forming the seas.
It is theorized that the true age of the earth is about 4.6 billion years old, formed at about the same time as the rest of our solar system. The oldest rocks geologists have been able to find are 3.9 billion years old. Using radiometric dating methods to determine the age of rocks means scientists have to rely on when the rock was initially formed (as in - when its internal minerals first cooled). In the infancy of our home planet the entire earth was molten rock - a magma ocean.
Since we can only measure as far back in time as we had solid rock on this planet, we are limited in how we can measure the real age of the earth. Due to the forces of plate tectonics, our planet is also a very dynamic one; new mountains forming, old ones wearing down, volcanoes melting and reshaping new crust. The continual changing and reshaping of the earth's surface that involves the melting down and reconstructing of old rock has pretty much eliminated most of the original rocks that came with earth when it was newly formed. So the age is a theoretical age.
When Did Life on Earth Begin?
Scientists are still trying to unravel one of the greatest mysteries of earth: When did "life" first appear and how did it happen? It is estimated that the first life forms on earth were primitive, one-celled creatures that appeared about 3 billion years ago. That's pretty much all there was for about the next two billion years. Then suddenly those single celled organisms began to evolve into multicellular organisms. Then an unprecedented profusion of life in incredibly complex forms began to fill the oceans. Some crawled from the seas and took residence on land, perhaps to escape predators in the ocean. A cascading chain of new and increasingly differentiated forms of life appeared all over the planet, only to be virtually annihilated by an unexplained mass extinction. It would be the first of several mass extinctions in Earth's history.
Scientists have been looking increasingly to space to explain these mass extinctions that have been happening almost like clockwork since the beginning of "living" time. Perhaps we've been getting periodically belted by more space rocks (ie. asteroids), or the collision of neutron stars happening too close for comfort? Each time a mass extinction occurred, life found a way to come back from the brink. Life has tenaciously clung to this small blue planet for the last three billion years. Scientists are finding new cues as to how life first began on earth in some really interesting places - the deep ocean.Funny People Slipping On Ice Compilation - Part 3Seeker Land2023-01-06 | Winter is Coming ~ Hilarious Fails on icy stairs, driveways and streets. It's become popular in certain political and media circles to say social media must clamp down harder on false information. Some lawmakers have even threatened tech companies with severe consequences for failing to stop the spread of fake news. But the idea that these companies could ever do this adequately is laughable—something driven home by new reporting on Hunter Biden's laptop.
Back in October 2020, the New York Post first reported on the laptop—allegedly left by President Joe Biden's son at a computer repair shop and containing emails about Hunter's work for Ukrainian energy company Burisma. The emails suggested Burisma was paying Hunter in order to get access to his dad.
The story was quickly panned by prestige media and denounced by Democrats, who characterized it as an attempt to make then-candidate Joe Biden look bad and possibly another attempt by Russians to influence a U.S. presidential election. Even mentioning it to criticize it was frowned upon by some on the left.
This narrative was so pervasive and persuasive that Facebook temporarily limited distribution of the Post story and Twitter briefly blocked users from sharing it entirely. Now, The New York Times—which was critical of the Post story when it came out—has published a piece backing up many of the Post's initial assertions. The story details the U.S. Department of Justice's investigation into Hunter Biden for possible violations of laws surrounding taxes, foreign lobbying, and money laundering.
Federal prosecutors "had examined emails…from a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop," the Times reports, before going on to describe the contents of some of these emails. These emails "were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation," it says. So: A story that initially seemed dubious turned out to have been true all along.
#animals #compilation #supercutPeople That Fell Hard For The Jussie Smollet HoaxSeeker Land2021-12-04 | Celebrity Jussie Smollett supporters grapple with hoax reports - Fake Newspeople - The Jussie Smollett hoax shows, yet again, that the media are more interested in pushing a left-wing agenda than sticking to facts. As reports that “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett may have choreographed his alleged assault pile up, some celebrities are having a hard time aligning the headlines with their initial support, and two have even pointed fingers at police.
Rapper Cardi B posted a profanity-filled Instagram live video expressing disappointment in Smollett, while leaving open the possibility that the actor is being set up by “racist” police officers.
“I’m not gonna say, yet, until he says out his mouth that it was fake and the s--- was staged. I don’t want to completely blame him because… somebody that I was talking to, they said police in Chicago are racist and so they might probably be trying to frame him and make him look like he’s a liar,” Cardi B said. “But if he’s not, then bro, you f----d up.”
Much like Cardi B, actress Ava DuVernay is skeptical of law enforcement in Chicago.
"Despite the inconsistencies, I can’t blindly believe Chicago PD. The department that covered up shooting Laquan McDonald over a dozen times? That operated an off-site torture facility? That one? I’ll wait. Whatever the outcome, this won’t stop me from believing others. It can’t."
DuVernay sent a follow-up tweet after a fan pointed out inconsistencies in Smollett’s version of events. “He might have lied. He might be not have. I don’t know. But what I do know? I never believe police on general principle just ‘cause they say so. My experience, our history, makes it impossible for me to do so,” she wrote.
On Saturday, a Chicago police spokesperson said Smollett is no longer considered a victim in the case that allegedly involved an attack by two masked men who shouted racial and anti-gay slurs at the actor and, "This is MAGA country!"
Police earlier said that the "trajectory of the investigation" shifted and that they wanted to conduct another interview with Smollett about the alleged hate crime last month. Police released two Nigerian brothers who were held for questioning about the reported attack. They were released late Friday without charges.
Smollett, who is black and openly gay, said he was attacked by two masked men on Jan. 29 as he was walking home from a Subway restaurant. Police initially said they were investigating the attack as a possible hate crime and earlier considered Smollett a victim.
Over the weekend, reports citing police sources who felt Smollett orchestrated the attack gained traction, with CNN leading the charge. Actress Alyssa Milano tweeted that staging an attack is “wrong in so many ways” before expressing difficulty believing Smollett would do such a thing.
“No one could be that hurtful? To stage this? Right?” she wrote. “To f--k with all of us by playing into our weaknesses & make it even harder for victims to come forward?! No one could choose to be that hurtful? Right?! RIGHT?”
Smollett's attorneys, Todd S. Pugh and Victor P. Henderson, vehemently denied that the attack was a hoax, previously telling press, "As a victim of a hate crime who has cooperated with the police investigation, Jussie Smollett is angered and devastated by recent reports that the perpetrators are individuals he is familiar with. He has now been further victimized by claims attributed to these alleged perpetrators that Jussie played a role in his own attack. Nothing is further from the truth and anyone claiming otherwise is lying."Bus with Legs Walks Over Traffic Jams - Future TransportSeeker Land2021-08-11 | Concept by DAHIR INSAAT original links youtube.com/user/dahirsem/videos - Dahir's Explanation Translated from Russian--- The other day I patented another model of transport of the second level, only now on six pillars, and with a variable distance between the wheel bearings, which made it theoretically possible to use such transport in urban conditions, in conditions of intersection of roads with different radius of curvature, different intersections and passage under bridges. Only the variable between the wheel distance will allow the platform with six supports to travel along a curved trajectory and crouch under the bridges. And after watching the video you will understand in detail why it is on six supports, and what are the advantages of this version of the platform. Surely someone will wonder why not a year ago and only now it appeared, the whole point is that a year ago I did not have a ready solution with floating supports, I did not understand how it is possible to force such traffic to pass curvilinear sections of roads, when he six supports and the distance between the supports is about seven meters. Analyzing old cliches, it turned out that if you did not combine these legs with the same frame, with a single axis of rotation, then such a vehicle could travel only along straight roads, and if you fix every two pillars on the frame with a single center of rotation like a classic carriage of a car, with high supports allowing to pass under the transport of the first level, the supports could not be telescopic, and any possibility of using a third pair of wheels was lost, without which the function can not be stepped over the obstacle, squatting in front of the bridge, and simply moving along a curved trajectory. А вот появление плавающих опор, и опор на рычагах и петлях все изменило, нашлось то спасительное решение, без которого не возможен такой вид транспорта, что собственно я и запатентовал.

Bungy Jumping is steeped in tradition and dates back to an ancient ritual that is performed in the village of Bunlap on Vannatu Island. The “Gkol” that is performed is a rite of passage for the tribesman and entails them Bungy Jumping using Banyan tree vines attached to their ankles. Inspired by this, the first modern era Bungee Jump was conducted by Oxford University Dangerous Sports Club on the 1st April 1979 at Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol, England. Members of the club jumped using shock cord instead of banyan tree vines whilst wearing top hat and tails. You can watch a video of this very first jump on youtube.
The enormous publicity form the stunt led to the club performing a second jump from the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco then a jump from the Royal George Suspension Bridge in Colorado.
All went quiet until the video was seen by New Zealander AJ Hackett who in June 1987 very publicly performed a Bungy Jump from the Eiffel Tower in Paris France. The key difference was AJ Hackett saw the opportunity to commercialize Bungy Jumping into an extreme sport by using rubber instead of shock cord and in November 1988 the Kawarau Bridge 43m Bungy Jump opened. During the first year AJ Hackett had just 28 customers. In Thailand that year, Pattaya Bungy Jump opened with a jump 17m higher than the Kawarau Bridge Jump at 60m.
The Pattaya Bungy Jump was not only the first in South East Asia but still remains the highest Bungy Jump in Thailand today. Since 1989 the Bungy Jumping craze has exploded and there are now many thousands of Bungy Jumps worldwide all started from the humble beginnings in New Zealand and Thailand.

Bungy Jump - Pattaya ThailandSeeker Land2019-02-16 | instagram.com/dhruvaaliman ... pattayabungy.com --- More Adventures in Thailand Here -- youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMoEmUBElyzg_4y_Fd5WeLOavfM_Vu9qJ ...The Human Slingshot is really like no other experience and indeed this is the first and currently only slingshot experience in Asia. The easiest way to describe the human slingshot is to think of Angry Birds. You will wear a full body harness, with neck restraint to keep you safe and securely attached to two specially designed silicon bungy cords which are fixed to the top of the towers. Then, once safe an secure you will be prepared for launch.
The Human Slingshot, is without doubt one of the most incredible experiences you could have. We will then check your weight (maximum weight for the Human Slingshot is 220 pounds/100kg) in preparation for your launch.
You are pulled back horizontally 40 meters to the starting location, then with a force of up to 4G, you will accelerate to 150kph in under a second. Enjoy as you fly back and forth only a few meters above the ground.
Inspired by this, the first modern era Bungy Jump was conducted by Oxford University Dangerous Sports Club on the 1st April 1979 at Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol, England. Members of the club jumped using shock cord instead of banyan tree vines whilst wearing top hat and tails. You can watch a video of this very first jump called: 1979 Bungee jump from Clifton Suspension bridge.

The official Songkran festival lasts three days but in reality the whole week is taken over by a mass celebration as the whole country shuts down for a momentous water fight. Wild scenes of exuberance can be seen throughout the Kingdom with music, dancing, drinking and people drenched from head to toe. Water guns, hose pipes, buckets, in fact, anything you can get your hands on can be used to splash people, and one thing is for certain: you will get wet! As April is the hottest month of the year in Thailand, everyone gets involved with this country-wide water fight and it brings great relief from the soaring temperatures. Songkran started as a Buddhist tradition, using a light sprinkling of water to symbolize purification but, as time went by, people began splashing each other in a more playful manner until recent years, when the entire country becomes one almighty water fight celebrated by millions!
Songkran in PATTAYA When: April 13-19 Pattaya is known as a party city so it should come as no surprise that Songkran festivities last longer here than anywhere else in Thailand. There will be water fights going on during the regular Songkran days (13th-15th April) but, uniquely, Pattaya celebrates into the following week too. Known in Thai as the Wan Lai Festival, this year the biggest day of revelry will be on April 19th so if you arrive in Thailand a little late this is your last chance to party. Where to Party? Everybody is armed with a water dispenser of some description. Some favour the semi-traditional bucket, many go for a water gun and some use Heath Robinson high-pressure hoses made from a length of plastic plumbing pipe with a small hole at one and a plunger at the other. Beach Road is cut off to traffic and stages are set up for live music and foam machines. The fire department park their engines here, filling numerous water butts for revellers to reload their soakers from. On the roads that do allow vehicles, the main ones become a slow-moving traffic jam. Pick-up trucks are turned into mobile parties, with their own water butts, the radio on full volume and many young Thais strafing pedestrians and other vehicles from the back.
Good To Know About Songkran in Thailand If you find yourself anywhere in Thailand during mid-April, there is no getting away from being splashed (the only exceptions to this would be monks, new born babies and the elderly), even if you are dressed in your nicest clothes… so leave your best suit and suede shoes at home. Also, take good care of cameras, passports, and other valuables – keep them in your hotel safe or, if you have to bring them out, waterproof bags are widely available and should be used. One phrase you will hear all over Thailand during Songkran is “Sawadee Bee Mai” which means ‘Happy New Year’, it is sure to be greeted with smiles and is the best way to make new friends. Every provincial town will have some form of celebration and often the local exuberance in small towns can be as much fun as in any of the most popular towns and beach resorts listed above. Just remember to take a splashing with the good humour in which it is intended, and if you don’t like being splashed, stay indoors or in the confines of your hotel.

#Beach #Fun #NewMusicOnly In Russia... Crazy Driver Plows Car Through Airport TerminalSeeker Land2017-08-10 | Drunk man drives car through Russian airport terminal. Footage shows car smash into a terminal and drive around as people jump out of the way and police desperately try to stop it. CCTV footage shows a grey car ploughing through snow and into the doors of the Kazan International Airport, taking several attempts to crash its way through, while policemen try to open the car doors. Separate CCTV footage from inside the airport then shows the driver, who was reportedly intoxicated at the time, proceed to drive through the building as police continue to chase it and shocked members of the public dodge its path.
Finally the vehicle smashes through another door to exit the airport terminal, at which point it stops and officers are able to open the driver door. The footage then cuts off.
Following the incident, Kazan Airport tweeted that no one was injured, but RT.com reports that some officers were hurt.
A water pipe in the terminal was reportedly broken, causing a flood in the building, of which the total damage was estimated to be around $100,000 (£81,600).

#parody #comedy #funnyGuy Builds Real Life IRON MAN Suit - Hes FlyingSeeker Land2017-05-19 | British entrepreneur Richard Browning has created a real-life Iron Man suit, by attaching miniature jet engines to his limbs. He has just founded Gravity, a tech start-up who have built and filed patents for the human propulsion technology that could re-imagine manned flight. Browning, a former Royal Marine reservist, has released a YouTube video showing him testing the 'Daedalus', the company’s mark 1 jet-engine suit, in fields, factories and empty car parks.
The footage shows Browning travelling just a few meters wearing the Daedalus, while Gravity has ambitious plans to successfully complete the world’s first human propulsion flight in the next 12 months.
“Our vision is to build an entirely new generation of human flight systems for commercial, military and entertainment applications,” the Gravity team explains.
“Our mission is to build an inspirational technology company by re-imagining the future of human flight and pioneering aeronautical innovation.”
Browning says his suit has already been compared to Tony Stark's fictional superhero Iron Man.
“We’ve already had a few comparisons to Tony Stark, but this is real-world aeronautical innovation,” he said.
“We are serious about building a world-changing technology business. We stand at the very beginning of what human propulsion systems will do.”
He told Red Bull, who he has partnered with: “It's like riding a bike in three dimensions.
“The suit can fly in most locations,” he adds. “Despite being capable of flying at several hundred miles per hour, and at thousands of feet, normal operation sees the wearer flying at no more than a couple of meters.”25 Astonishing & Rare Historical Photos Compilation - Part 1Seeker Land2017-05-08 | 25 Extraordinary Rare Photos You Didn't See In History Textbooks - Part 1 ...Compilation of Powerful, Stunning, Strange Photographs From History…List of Photos Below- Filming of the MGM opening credits (1928)
