I’ve used a lot of vises in my shop over the years: bench vises, portable vises, carving setups, and even clamping systems I've thrown together. The AxiGlide vise caught my attention because it solves a problem I’m always fighting in the shop...sometimes you just need a third hand.
In this review, I put the AxiGlide through real shop use...soldering switches, carving wood, cleaning router bits, working with delicate parts, and testing different jaw setups including metal, non-marring, pin jaws, and fractal jaws.
I also show a few custom ideas for expanding it even further... including carving plates, wedge clamping attachments, and base upgrade so that it sits where I want it to on the bench.
If you're tired of vises giving you a single gripping option that you have to work around, if you want to see your project at a new angle...you've got to try this out!
