Withering Tides, the long-awaited debut album from German band Axetasy (from Stuttgart, formed in 2020), is an explosion of speed metal and thrash metal with hints of 80s black metal, released on January 17, 2025, by Dying Victims Productions. Recorded, mixed, and mastered in-house by the band, the album captures a raw and nostalgic energy, evoking influences from icons like Razor, Whiplash, Running Wild, Helloween, and Cruel Force, but with a unique touch of "strange magic" that makes it fresh and addictive.
With nine intense tracks, the album begins with the atmospheric intro "The Void," which gives way to galloping riffs and wild vocals in "Withering Tides of Space," establishing a frenetic pace that blends relentless speed with atmospheric melodies and technically demanding passages.
