The recent release of FW: 28.05 for Axe--FX III sees a bunch of amps remastered, including the USA Pre suite which is based on the Mesa TriAxis Preamp. This is a preamp that usually conjures up humbucker-powered muscular tones in my head so I was interested to see if I could make it work with a plain old Strat. I like the results so much I think I'll port it to the FM9 and use it on the road when we go out again in June. This no-chat Scene playthrough uses my Fender '61 AVRI with JJ's '63 Set Pickups. Theres a dedicated demo of it on this channel if youre interested and Ill leave the link below. I wanted to write an Axe-FX III/FM9 stage patch for it along the lines of something Id use and then play the hell out of the guitar to see how resilient the tremolo is. Turns out its VERY resilient (stays in tune) as I really gave it a hiding. This is that patch. Elevated Jam Tracks provide the backing track (thanks again, Tom!). For those who dont own an Axe-FX, you can keep an eye on the upper right screen which Ive focused on the amp block so you know vaguely whats going on. After the amp block I have a stereo delay and some mild medium room reverb. Before it is a compressor, phaser, vibe and several different overdrives, mostly the classic SD-1. $Taking the Echo Fix EF-X3 Chorus Echo for a Spin Its Sunday. Time to relax a bit. The Echo Fix Chorus Echo EF-X3 arrived a couple of days ago and what a cool machine it is. Its a proper tape echo built to last with every conceivable modification and control that they could think of. Amazing. So Ive inserted it into the Two notes Reload IIs effects loop to have some fun. The Reload II is seeing the 16Ω speaker output from the Marshall SV20H. Before the Marshall I have a Klinger custom pedal that Shaun built for me. Its a triple whammy with MK1/MKII/MKIII and some extras. Another amazing piece. Im running the Reload II into the Axe which is hosting a GB 4x12 IR. The Axe is feeding, via S/PDIF, my PreSonus Quantum 26x32 which is a top soundcard but sadly no longer in production (they have plenty of other great stuff out there though).
