On this week's REWIND, hang out with AWS’s Principal Evangelist for Video Games, Chris Melissinos, continues digging through quirky consoles and sits down with the notorious Philips CD-i multimedia console. This “console” is best known in game enthusiast circles for officially licensed Nintendo games, namely three Zelda titles, one Mario title, one unfinished/unreleased Mario title, and a BUNCH of “edutainment” and Full Motion Video (FMV) titles.

Chris will discuss how the CD-I came to be, why Nintendo licensed these games for distribution, how these games were influenced by The Legend of Zelda cartoon, what’s up with the Mario titles, and briefly play these titles and at least one hidden gem for the system.
