(Engllish below) Andaba trasteando con la emulación del Roland MT-32 con DOSBox Staging, y se me ocurrió hacer este vídeo de 5 de los juegos que he estado probando que mejor hacen uso del módulo midi de Roland. En concreto, muestro la intro de estos juegos, ya que contienen sus temas principales, y algunas cosas interesantes como en el caso de la intro de Dune 2, cuyos efectos de sonido son también reproducidos por el MT-32 (también alguno en el caso de Space Quest IV).
Personalmente, no dejará de sorprenderme lo que mejoraba la música midi de estos juegos con dicho aparato, que en algunos casos parece incluso música de CD. Y es muy de agradecer que gracias a emuladores como DOSBox (en este caso Staging, una versión muy mejorada) podamos tener una experiencia tan aproximada a lo que era jugar en la época con aparatos de sonido como este, al alcance de pocos por su precio (e incluso en la actualidad). Roland MT-32 fue lanzado en 1987 a un precio de $1,790 de hoy (teniendo en cuenta la inflación) según Wikipedia.
Por cierto, DOSBox Staging usa por defecto un filtro CRT que intenta imitar el aspecto de los monitores de la época, se me ocurrió dejarlo para el vídeo, por lo que recomiendo verlo a pantalla completa, pues en vista reducida no se ve del todo bien.

Otras versiones de DOSBox como DOSBox ECE o DOSBox-X también emulan MT-32. Y también ScummVM.
Son necesarias las roms de MT-32, no sé si es legal poner el link, pero con Google se encuentran rápido. Los nombres son:

I was testing the Roland MT-32 emulation with DOSBox Staging,and I thought I'd make this video of 5 of the games I've been testing that make the best use of Roland's midi module. Specifically, I show the intro of these games, as they contain their main themes, and some interesting things as in the case of the intro of Dune 2, because the sound effects are also played by the MT-32 (also some in the case of Space Quest IV).
Personally, I will never cease to be surprised how much better the midi music of these games was with this device, which in some cases even sounds like CD music. And thanks to emulators like DOSBox (in this case Staging, a much improved version) we can have an experience very close to what it was like to play at the time with sound devices like this, available to few people for its price (and even today). Roland MT-32 was released in 1987 at a price of $1,790 today (allowing for inflation) according to Wikipedia.
By the way, DOSBox Staging uses by default a CRT filter that tries to mimic the look of the monitors of the time, I thought to leave it for the video, so I recommend watching it in full screen, because in reduced view it does not look quite right.
