Meet the QCS6490 Vision-AI Development Kit! At Embedded Vision Summit, Peter Fenn of Avnet's Advanced Applications Group showed us what this board (a collaboration between Avnet and Qualcomm) can do – running four different live AI vision demos at once. The SoM, featuring Qualcomm's QCS6490 SoC, includes a hefty CPU-GPU-NPU combo with 13 TOPS of compute from the Qualcomm AI Engine NPU alone. Along with plenty of memory and an Adreno 633 vision processor, the entire SoM is SMARC-compliant and ready to embed into a finished product. The Development Kit's carrier board sports plenty of camera, display, and audio capabilities, plus two M.2 slots and a 40-pin connector compatible with many Raspberry Pi HATs.

Follow Hackster PRO Ana Camila Luna Lopez, co-founder of MoonMakers, to take another look at Nordic Semiconductors Thingy:91 X.
The Thingy:91 X is a battery-operated prototyping platform for cellular IoT based on the nRF9151 system-in-package (SiP) supporting LTE-M, NB-IoT, GNSS and NR+, and certified for global operation. It is an ideal device for rapidly developing any cellular IoT concept, and is especially suited for asset tracking applications due to its multiple location tracking methods in conjunction with nRF Cloud Location Services. The Thingy:91 X is also equipped with a series of on-board sensors that monitor environmental conditions and movement.
