My instrument panel is getting some serious upgrades this year. Let me take you along on my upgrade journey so you can see what's involved, and maybe learn a thing or two for your own upgrade considerations in the future.

My panel changes will replace the old GPS/NAV/COM units with modern and brand-new Avidyne IFD equipment. I will also install a new primary digital engine monitor from JPI to replace my factory engine gauges. In this first video, I'll take you through the installation of the Avidyne IFD550 and IFD440. Part II will cover the flight test, and Part III will show the new engine monitor.

As always, I look forward to your comments and questions here on YouTube. Or come find me at AirVenture 2019 in Oshkosh - I'll be there the whole week.
