Ilyana's redux video is here! Ilyana had a really rough time of it at the start of the series with her speed in the low 30s and her magic just barely reaching the 50 mark. Even with the insane buff from her skill, Shade, which lets her pick who initiates first at the beginning of the fight, she still struggled mightily because of her low bulk and low speed. Her strategy was (and still is to some extent): Can I OHKO with Flare or a Crit? Yes? Ok, I'll go first. No? Ok, let them go first and hope to not get mastery'd into oblivion. With her buffs to her Mag and Spd, this helps her to not rely on the latter as much since she won't be doubled as often and the +5 to Magic does add up since Flare ignores Resistance. Overall, as stated before, her strategy doesn't really change much, but she definitely initiates first more often this time with her heightened offensive stats.

The unit with the higher base speed will initiate first. (If unit has Shade or Stillness they will always choose who goes first). If both units have the same speed, the unit whose video it is will go first.
For weapons, the unit who is faster chooses the weapon they want the unit they are attacking gets to choose a weapon to counter them with. The unit who attacks first, goes through all the possible weapon combinations and picks whatever situation would give them the best chance at victory. After the initial turn, the only time a unit can change their weapon is on their turn.
