Avalanche Peak Route | Arthur’s Pass Summit Day Hike Guide | Southern Alps, New Zealand
Avalanche Peak is one of the most popular day hikes in Arthur’s Pass National Park. It’s the only summit in the area with a marked route to the top, and on a good day you’ll be treated to incredible views across the surrounding peaks and valleys.
This video takes you through the full loop, heading up via the Avalanche Peak Route and down via Scotts Route. You'll get a look at the steep forest climb, the exposed alpine ridge, and the final rocky push to the summit.
