The seeds for this project were sowed when Chris Whiteman asked me to play some gigs with him at a club in Richmond, VA. I felt such a rapport both musically and personally that I asked Chris if he would like to do an album together. Fortunately, he said yes. The result turned out to be everything I could wish for in a collaboration. Not trying to outdo each other but instead united in a common goal of making good music. Thanks to Chris, Emre, and Paul for a most rewarding musical experience.

Royce Campbell
Over his more than 40-year career, Royce has released 33 albums as leader and co-leader. He has produced a number of recordings featuring him with guitar greats such as Tal Farlow, Jimmy Raney, Pat Martino, Herb Ellis, Larry Coryell, Charlie Byrd, John Abercrombie and Bucky Pizzarelli. In the 70's Royce toured with legendary R&B vocalist Marvin Gaye and went on to work with a number of renowned vocalists including Nancy Wilson, Rosemary Clooney, Michael Feinstein, Peggy Lee, Mel Torme, Freddy Cole, Cleo Laine, and Joe Williams. Other jazz greats Royce worked with include Jack McDuff, Groove Holmes, Eddie Harris, Gerry Mulligan, Ray Brown, Jimmy Cobb and Urbie Green. Royce also was the touring guitarist for Henry Mancini for 19 years.
Chris Whiteman
Guitarist, Chris Whiteman’s music career has taken him throughout the U.S. and Europe, where he has performed on international stages and iconic clubs such as NYC’s Birdland. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in music from the University of Miami, and formally studied classical guitar at Virginia Commonwealth University. Chris is a former full time faculty member/acting director of jazz guitar studies at the University of Miami , and continues to teach privately in Richmond, VA. He has written music for film, done sessions for major labels, and arranges extensively for jazz guitar. His solo arrangements are featured on his YouTube channel and have over 2 million views.
Paul Langosch began his studies on the double bass in 1969 with Albert Webster of the National Symphony and later continued private lessons with William Vaughn, also of the National Symphony. He began his college studies at Montgomery College in Rockville, MD, Later attending American University in Washington, DC and the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. Paul has worked with many of the leaders in the jazz world including: Phil Woods, Tal Farlow, Al Cohn, Mose Allison, Johnny Hartman, Bud Shank, Zoot Sims, Barney Kessel and Herb Ellis. Paul’s touring credits include tours with Jon Hendricks, George Shearing, Rosemary Clooney, Mel Torme, Susanna McCorkle and Conte Candoli. In 1985 Paul was invited to by Tony Bennett to become a permanent member of his trio. His association with Mr. Bennett lasted over 20 years.
Emre Kartari
Emre Kartari was born in Ankara, Turkey, and moved to the United States when he was nine years old. After studying jazz percussion at Virginia Commonwealth University and New York University, he went on to direct the jazz studies programs at Hacettepe University (Ankara) and Yaşar University (Izmir). In 2009, he formed Turkey's first state sponsored jazz program at the Ankara State Conservatory. He received his Doctorate of Musical Arts from Yaşar University in 2018 and is proud to be an artist endorsed by Istanbul Cymbals. Emre is an Adjunct Instructor of Jazz at VCU and Longwood University. He has performed and/or recorded with David Liebman, Mike Richmond, Darius Jones, John D'earth, Anthony Pirog, Dena Derose, Houston Person, and Howard Curtis, among others.
