This session explored the importance of leaves to trees and the role that chlorophyll plays in leaf color. The timing of leaf color changes is often related to shorter days but can also change due to stressors such as heat, lack of water, and damage to the tree. Weather and temperature can impact the intensity of the leaf's new color. Lastly, we were given tree recommendations to plant for dazzling fall yellow and red leaf colors.
