Recorded on November 10, 2025.
Featuring Dr. Travis Miles with Rutgers University.

This session explored how hurricanes work, how they are changing, and the variety of observation platforms used to study them. Buoys, drones, aircraft, and underwater gliders are all used to study hurricanes, but we focused on underwater gliders (autonomous robots) for this talk. All of the data collected by Rutgers researchers helps scientists track and predict hurricanes more accurately, not just here in New Jersey, but all over the world.
