After a mild and fairly dry November, There are still a fair few leaves on the apple trees on 3rd December. The cider is all made, I am spreading dung from our neighbour's smallholding and I am going to order 2 new saw blades for the winter pruning.
We are both 21 years older than when we planted the first tree here and are looking to further wind our labours down. We are pulling out of the Sunday farmer's markets and will probably move the orchard business more in the direction of a rare varieties collection and genetic repository and just do some exhibitions and enough markets to cover our costs and let the rest of the fruit go for cider.
