Here's a trick to speed up your sketching in CATIA - automatically create a coincident mate!
Instead of having to manually select an edge and your sketch entity, there's a setting under "Sketcher" that lets you place sketches in relation to background entities. If you turn that on, you can draw your new sketch entities directly on your existing geometry.
