Indonesian, the official and national language of Indonesia, is a standardized variety of Malay and has long served as a lingua franca in the multilingual Indonesian archipelago. Indonesia, the fourth most populous country globally, has over 279 million people, the majority of whom speak Indonesian, making it one of the world's most widely spoken languages.
Lampung is an Austronesian language or dialect cluster spoken by around 1.5 million native speakers, mainly from the Lampung ethnic group in southern Sumatra, Indonesia. It has two or three varieties: Lampung Api, Lampung Nyo, and Komering. Despite its significant number of speakers, Lampung is a minority language in its home province. Due to concerns about the language's endangerment, the provincial government has introduced Lampung language and script education in primary and secondary schools.
This video is created for educational, language awareness, and language preservation purposes.
