Raymond is among a group of elite didgeridoo players from the Northern Territory. His legacy is as a member of some of the earliest Aboriginal "dance troupes" to have traveled abroad beginning in the 1970s.
It was during the '70s that the struggle for Aboriginal Land Rights was most intense and this was accompanied by an increased visibility of, and public appreciation for, Australian Indigenous Cultures.
Raymond was a member of the David Gulpilil Dance Group as didgeridoo accompanist in a career spanning 3 decades. In 1991 Raymond recorded with Bobby Bununggurr and Jimmy Djamanba in "Djut Djut Djane Goodbye, Music from Arnhem Land and Christmas Hills" and "David Gulpilil Dance Group".
