The term “daylighting” often refers to interventions that improve visibility at intersections and other crossing conflict points (such as mid-block crossings, driveways, and alleys), typically through on-street parking restrictions on either side of the roadway. Removal of sightline obstacles other than parking can also be considered daylighting. Daylighting can be a powerful tool to help achieve a safe transportation system for all users and make progress toward the City of Austin’s Vision Zero goals.
