This video shows the launch of Austal Hull 397 (A.P.T. James) from the Austal Vietnam shipyard in Vung Tau, Vietnam in May 2020.
Austal Hull 397 (A.P.T. James) is a 94 metre high-speed catamaran designed and constructed for the National Infrastructure Development Co (NIDCO) of Trinidad and Tobago by Austal Vietnam.
The Austal 'Auto Express 94' vehicle-passenger ferry has capacity for 926 passengers, 20 crew and 250 cars (or 90 lane metres and 222 cars) over 2 vehicle decks. With 4 x MAN 16V 28/33D STC diesel engines powering 4 x KaMeWa 112 S3 waterjets, the vessel can achieve 37.5 knots at 90% MCR.
The vessel will operate the 'sea bridge' route between Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean Sea following delivery in the second half of CY2020.
