My Master's thesis, informally called "Scouter," uses a state-of-the-art facial detection algorithm coupled with high-performance feature detection and facial recognition to annotate faces with additional information in real time. The system uses a commodity eeePC, webcam, and heads-up display to show the view that the user would see with their own eyes, overlaid with facial detections, and when possible, recognitions.
