My dad got this back in the '90s for a few dollars. It worked very well when we first tried it out. Some years later, I've seen some YouTube videos where people own school record players with names like Audiotronics, Newcomb and Califone. One day, I thought of checking out the one in my house to see if it still works after several years of no use. Rubbing alcohol was used to clean the o-ring as well as the turntable part. When the unit was turned on, it would turn very slow during the first minute or two. Then it would turn at a normal speed. I would have to help it a little in order to make sure it turns at the right speed. It worked very well and I played some records on in (check out my later uploads).
