Here's a 1981 Uniden made radio. It's important to change the four capacitors that I changed in this set...without even trying the set! These started failing when these sets were just 7 years old; now they are 44.

A better front was available from a scrap set, so this was fitted whilst I had to remove the front anyway because the meter wasn't working correctly. It turned out there was a foreign body in the meter causing the malfunction; I suspect it's been in there since new.
