Au Train River Kayaking

In this adventure I set out with the kids kayaking up the Au Train River to Lake Au Train and back. We have the best time ever! The night is warm, the scenery breathtaking, and everyone is having a blast.
Honestly this was one of our favorite adventures in the Upper Peninsula. It was just such a peaceful evening. We felt one with nature and one with each other. The Au Train River winds slowly back and forth like a massive snake through Au Train Township connecting Lake Au Train all the way down to Lake Superior. It is full of turtles, fish, and other wildlife. The river doesn't move fast, and is never all that deep, making it perfect to paddle with kids. The kids collected a bazillion lily pads, and we may or may not have gotten snagged on some trees. Of course it wouldn't be an adventure if someone didn't get wet!
