When I requested a code for Ghost Recon Breakpoint, I wanted that same kind of comfort I get from almost any Ubisoft open world game—that kind of mindless, cookie-cutter action that you can switch your brain off to, even despite the much-discussed microtransactions. What I got was an experience that was far... stranger. Thanks to its near-broken technical state and pointless, ill-thought out systems, Breakpoint ends up a completely different experience to the one the developers likely intended... and that might be for the best.
