Andy Gilleand | Attempting to Climb the Maroon Bells in Horizon: Zero Dawn @AndyGilleand | Uploaded 7 years ago | Updated 2 hours ago
I found a familiar mountain range in the game, so I decided to see if it was possible to scale it.
If you don't know, the Maroon Bells are a famous set of mountains near Aspen, Colorado. They are some of the most photographed mountains in the world, and are the inspiration for John Denver's "Rocky Mountain High" (he lived nearby). I visited them when I was young and I've always enjoyed looking at them, so it was cool to see them pop up in what is becoming one of my favorite games.
Note: The colors are off in this because I was playing in HDR, and the built-in screen recorder in the PS4 doesn't capture color 100% correctly in HDR mode.
